The first idea is rarely the best one
Most successful products are second, third or tenth versions of an original idea. The trick is to find the flaws early, when changing course is cheap.
Questions to ask about any idea
- Who exactly has this problem, and how do they solve it today?
- Would they pay, switch or change a habit for your solution?
- What is the smallest version you could test this month?
- What would have to be true for this to fail?
